Dream of a Holy Woman: The Kateri Chantings

“Dream of a Holy Woman” is Christian meditation inspired by Saint Kateri Tekakwitha,developed as a dream sequence of seven voices presented in seven dramatic monologues,with historical reference incorporated into poetic dramatization intended to suggest thespiritual sense of a saint most precious. e seven voices are presented speaking from thefour directions of east, south, west, and north, and three more “directions” which mayalso be included in the archetypal orientation of our human being: earth and sky, andthe sacred center, following a thematic pattern based on the traditional Native Americandirectional prayers of petitions and blessings common to the sacred traditions of manytribes.
